Salon Concerts at Promisek P.O. Box 424, Bridgewater CT 06752 860-355-2066 April 19, 2009 Recorder Trio Tarantella, "Birds, Francies and Other Delights" Music of five Centuries performed on Recorders by Rachel Begley, Sarah Cantor, and Héloïse Degrugillier. They will play haunting French Medieval melodies, jazzy rhythms from the Renaissance, proud English baroque music, songs of love and longing, and laughable animal imitations from the middle ages to the 21st century. Tarantella was a finalist in the 2007 Early Music America Medieval Renaissance competition. The trio has performed at the Boston Early Music Fringe Festival, and on Vermont Public Radio, in addition to teaching early music workshops and performing throughout New England.
May 17, 2009 Ensemble Leclair. Led by harpsichordist Riyahee Hong, with Agnes Simkens on baroque violin and soprano Urlicke Shapiro, the ensemble specializes in the music of the French Baroque. They will play works of Rameau, Leclair, and Montéclair. All concerts take place in St. Cecilia's, our newly-renovated main building, in the music room adjoining the garden, Sundays at 3pm, followed by a champagne reception.
